Meet the foragers!

foraging for local ingredients

Danny and his two sons Alfie & Oscar are often seen out, wrapped up in brambles looking for blackberries or under an apple tree hoovering up the wind falls. It used to be called scrumping, but now it has the more delicate title of foraging.

Although we do always get the landowner’s permission,  there is something exciting about collecting your raw ingredients up, taking them home to prepare into something delicious, that we love to do.

This year we have been allowed access to numerous gardens in Wymeswold for Apples, Quince, Redcurrants and many other home grown treats that make their way onto our menus.

If you have an excess bounty, just give us a call and we would always be happy to give it a good home!
